Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth
Project Overview
The project is organized by the National Centre RUSSIA and the TRIM Center. It brings together researchers, entrepreneurs, government representatives, and independent experts from more than 120 countries around the world, fostering an open and equal exchange of views on global future development.
Our Role
The TRIM Center is a co-organizer and intellectual partner of the project. Our responsibilities include:
-
Expert evaluation and selection of essays;
-
Substantive engagement with participants and experts;
-
Preparation of the final report and its promotion on international platforms.
Together with the National Centre RUSSIA, we design the mechanics of pitches and expert panels, assemble the jury, and prepare the roundtable program. At the same time, we build the intellectual infrastructure around the project: maintaining an international database of experts and essayists, organizing the January Expert Dialogues, and hosting thematic discussions.
The project brings together the perspectives of renowned thinkers such as Jeffrey Sachs, Wang Feng, Chen Qiufan, and Selina Neri, alongside the contributions of essay authors and the Russian expert community. In this way, the Open Dialogue has evolved into a continuous platform for generating ideas and insights, with its outcomes contributing to global discussions and creating tangible impact.
Russian and international companies collaborate with essay authors, involve them in their initiatives, and support the implementation of their ideas, fostering innovation and delivering value for business, society, and humanity as a whole.
How Open Dialogue Works
At the heart of the project is an open essay competition. The main requirement for participants is to present their own vision for the future development of the economy and society. Submissions are organized around four key areas: investment in people, investment in technology, investment in the environment, and investment in connectivity.
The Open Dialogue is an ongoing ecosystem that ensures the ideas and perspectives of the Global Majority are represented on equal terms in the global dialogue.
Growth and Reach
-
Cycle I (2025): approximately 700 essayists.
-
Cycle II (2026): more than 1,600 essayists.
-
More than 100 essayists from over 40 countries were invited to participate in the in-person sessions held in 2025–2026.
-
95 participants from the first essay competition returned to take part in the second cycle.
-
Overall, representatives from more than 120 countries have participated in the essay competitions.
Each cycle concludes with an analytical report that synthesizes the ideas of essayists and experts into a standalone intellectual product. The first cycle’s report, “Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth,” identified 10 key themes on the world agenda, ranging from a new “social” capitalism to the autonomous revolution and a new architecture of global trade. Following the second cycle, a foresight study is published examining long-term global changes and their potential implications.
