TRIM Center Presents Report on Key Global Economic Trends
The report was prepared by experts from the TRIM Center of Expertise following the Open Dialogue “The Future of the World: A New Platform for Global Growth” — an international project initiated by Russia in spring 2025 to discuss new scenarios for global development. It synthesizes ideas proposed by participants and highlights the key trends shaping the future economy, which will help guide future research and expert discussions in specific areas.
The report was presented by Natalia Stapran, Director of the TRIM Center. The press conference also featured Natalia Virtuozova, CEO of the National Centre RUSSIA; Swiss analyst and journalist Lucy Morgan Edwards; and participants of the Open Dialogue, including Murat Dudarev, expert with the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises; Naila Mehrabova, member of the Supervisory Board of Azersun Holding (Azerbaijan); Canadian economist Joseph Potvin; and Elizaveta Romanova, a student at the Russian State Social University.
“Today, we are witnessing a shift in the global economic paradigm. The economies of the G7 are giving way to BRICS countries, which already produce more than one-third of global GDP. At the same time, it is not only the balance of power that is changing, but also economic models.
Other Global Majority countries are drawing lessons from BRICS countries. Against the backdrop of a reconfigured globalization and an impending demographic crisis, human capital is becoming the key asset of nations. Investment in people, the development of human-centered technologies, strengthening ties between countries and individuals, and the creation of sustainable environments will become priority areas of focus for the coming decades.
The task for Russia and other Global Majority countries is to identify common development opportunities in these areas to take advantage of the emerging window of opportunity. This report represents the first major effort to bring together existing ideas, expertise, and initiatives to form a new platform for global growth. The next step will involve ongoing Expert Council formats to discuss specific topics outlined in the report,” noted Natalia Stapran.
