Five Megatrends of Global Transformation: Key Themes from the January Expert Dialogues
The new cycle of the Open Dialogue project began with its kickoff event, the January Expert Dialogues, co-organized by the TRIM Center.
The discussion held on January 30 at the National Centre RUSSIA focused on five global megatrends presented by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office.
-
A new paradigm of globalization in which state, societal, and socio-economic sovereignty become decisive factors for sustainable development.
-
The transformation of the financial architecture, driven by central bank digital currencies and emerging platform-based solutions.
-
A technological shift in the economy, moving from the automation of labor to the automation of institutions themselves.
-
The demographic consequences of a post-peak population world as a key constraint on development.
-
The transformation of human development in the new technological era.
Prominent experts from around the world, including global strategist Parag Khanna (AlphaGeo), demographer Professor Wang Feng (University of California), Head of EMIR Research Rais Hussin, Rector of the Future Readiness Academy Selina Neri, and President of the China Science Fiction Writers Association Chen Qiufan, took part in the open lectures and the podcast series OD on Air. Together with Maxim Oreshkin, they examined each of the megatrends in depth, combining economic analysis, demographic forecasting, technological expertise, and a future-focused perspective.
The January Expert Dialogues established the intellectual framework for the next cycle of the Open Dialogue project and will help inform the final report.
