Open Dialogue Experts Explore the Drivers of Success in the Future Economy
On October 7, 2025, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted an expert session titled “The New Economy: Competition for Positive Development” as part of the “Inventing the Future” Symposium. The event was organized by the National Centre RUSSIA, with the TRIM Center of Expertise serving as a knowledge partner.
The discussion brought together independent experts, entrepreneurs, and representatives of academia from Ireland, China, Colombia, Thailand, Ethiopia, and Russia. Participants examined the growing competitiveness of Global Majority countries in the emerging Experience Economy, where success is increasingly determined by the creation of unique meanings and emotional connections with consumers.
During the session, Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, outlined the context of ongoing global transformations:
“Today, the global economy is undergoing a major shift in the structure of global business: the influence of the Global Majority countries is increasing in markets, and it is their companies, products, and cultural narratives that are becoming a source of new ideas and emotions.”
He emphasized that the success of the new generation of brands is not based on reproducing existing templates, but on creating unique experiences:
“We see growing interest in products and projects from the Global Majority countries. They are capable of offering the world new emotions rather than repetitions. This is an obvious and accelerating trend.”
According to Maxim Oreshkin, this marks a new stage of competition—one based on experiences—where success belongs to those who offer not just goods or services, but entire systems of identities and experiences.
“This is not a line of standard clichés, but a large matrix, where one dimension represents the diversity of services and the other the diversity of products. Each cell in this matrix is a unique product, a unique experience that did not exist before,” he noted.
During the discussion, experts developed a set of recommendations on how to strengthen positions in the new economic reality. The session will conclude with a policy paper prepared by the TRIM Center.
